CLASS PLACEMENT + CHANGING LEVELS AT FGDA
Student’s class placement is determined by FGDA Instructors. Students new to the studio should schedule an assessment time with an instructor to determine their placement. There is no set amount of time that a person spends in each level as every student learns at a different rate.

All FGDA classes are broken down into 3 parts:
- Individual Warm ups and Drills - This focuses on building the proper alignment and movement technique we need as individuals before we can move successfully with a partner
- Partner Exercises - Here we focus on the mechanics and technique needed to move with your partner. We break down the mechanics behind the tango vocabulary to fundamental movements.
- Putting Vocabulary in Context - The last portion of the class we combine vocabulary and put it in the line of dance. We explore how to fit the movement to music and use it to navigate the dance floor.
